This makes me frustrated,blood-shard wrote:Ewan Dobson with his amazing feedback technique... Do I need to say more?
I have been practicing the guitar for a couple of years now and its like I've completely plateaued in skill.
I think I might have learned something incorrectly, which will be a pain the ass considering I will have to unlearn it
Re: Instrumental
At first I was skeptical of his actual skill, considering he was using reverb to get that echoing sound, but after listening to this; my doubts were obliterated.

Ewan is one of the Guitarists on Youtube I respect the most, along with John H Clarke.
Re: Instrumental
I've never really looked into the randomness, it just seemed too random . . . but i am glad i did now. This is a great collection of wonderful music and i have spent hours checking it out and it will take me even more to complete. Thanks for all that!
I will also contribute some of my favourites, here we go:
Martin Moro - I have been to some of his gigs and a guitar workshop and i can tell you he is truly amazing, unfortunately hardly any of his masterpieces are available on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgHOCyo7n_s - 108
but he is not only virtuosic, he also impresses me with emotional vibes
- The snowflake silence
I think Paul Gilbert does not need to be introduced ? He made so many incredible instrumentals but since i expect you all know him very well i just link one of them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPGA3vjMLgE Paul Gilbert / Racer X - scarified
i stalked him after a concert, now i am very proud to have his signature on my ibanez :]
Then there is this stunning underground insider band from poland i stumbled upon in another forum, really you should give them a chance and check it out!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZmEWmHJR8c Tides from Nebula - Tragedy of Joseph Merrick
Now lets move on to one of my favourite bands, Suidakra! They make a very unique celtic folk, melodic death metal mix but i will stick to the topic and link 2 of their instrumentals:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3SXa0hnJrE Suidakra - Dead Mans Reel (featuring a bag pipe)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKzX4fCFStA Suidakra - And the Giants dance (melodic acoustic guitars)
Then finally i noticed the absence of buckethead in this thread. This can not be! To me he is the most creative and inspirational guitarist on earth right now. He may be weird and not all of his stuff is pleasant to the casual listeners ear, but you will hear things that have not ever been done before. The diversity and uniqueness of his creations is mind-blowing.
I will put together a nice collection of some of his stuff and post it later. I'll just link one teaser
buckethead - soothsayer (dedicated to aunt Suzie) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFoBbNHvOME )

Yeah, Walk Off The Earth are great, I've actually been listening to various versions of that song for the past half an hour or so, but that's not instrumental...

Well... it has an instrument in it! You're right, didn't think that one through too well.

Re: Instrumental
Ah, I don't think anything compares with bach, except maybe chopin. (no link because I'm lazy and there aren't very many videos of people actually playing the songs, though I did very much enjoy a very skilled pianist playing winter wind at a restaurant recently.)
