Overgrowth RTS???
Ok, We have heard some segestons of Lugaru RTS.
I already cracked a joke about it once: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2889&start=0
I think there should be a Spin off RTS somewhere using the lore of Lugaru.
If anyone has played Total war, I think that could be more fiting.
Battle simulaton and stratagy is fun I think.

Total war series is pwnsome. It could fit.
Re: Overgrowth RTS???
Depending on the extent to which we can mod OG, making an RTS mod is a certainly a possibility =)
There are other games out there that have had rts mods made with their engine and content, for example the Half life 2 rts mod: http://www.moddb.com/mods/half-life-2-wars

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
wow, good find...
If there is such a game made, I beg the story be made in house.
some of the fan fics for lugaru should be keeped to fanficton.net, and I say that after making a fanfic with BWS and Invertin. It was Crazy!
Who knows, maybe you might see my bogus units?
Bladesmen - the back bone of the rocky hall?
Maybe the great towls of training?

I agree and think the whole thing fits with Lugaru.nutcracker wrote:Total war series is pwnsome. It could fit.

...
What units would there be?
Rabbit with a knife. Rabbit with a stick. Rabbit with a different stick.
You see the problem?

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
we could do it with different levels of civilization, i.e. level 1 unarmed rabbits do one more damage than the standard rabbit (worker or villager or w.e.) level 2 would be knife rabbits (equipped with stone knives) level 3 would be allowing the special rocky hall guards (equipped with staves) and research into black smithing (for metal knives) level 4 would allow sword rabbits and more specialized training giving your knife rabbits an ability to throw their knives. obviously this is just a simple outline with more kinds of training and research, and other races i.e. cats rats dogs and wolves.

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
well I see it as
Races:
Rats, Rabbits, Wolves
Not
Races:
Rabbits
That already adds variety, it does ^^

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
that's why I said rats, cats, dogs, wolves, rabbits. another way for you to win the game other than total conquest could be building a fleet and negotiating with a whaleman to destroy the enemy. hahaha

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
I think Factons would be a better way of looking at it.
EG:
The Rocky Hall: Consists of Rodents, mainly rabbits, maybe Dogs Mercs.
-Weapons: Warriors have racal apropriate weapons, like bow staffs and swords.
-Tactics: Rabbits are weaker and there for stick to balistics, some of the lower class rabbits are forced to fight in Melee, but have increased chance of breaking from combat. Dogs will fight as there powerful cavalry.
Preferance: A Player who like spacing between his foe.
The Wolfs Den: Consists of Wolves, very strong and natural warriors.
Weapons: No weapons.
Tactics: Often wolves will march though a force of rodents, the implementaton of Dogs in the forces force them to be sneaky. They paticularly hate Dogs.
Preferance: A rush player
The Greed: Consists of Rodents, paticularly Rat Sappers, Dog Mercs, and Felines.
Weapons: Gilded and valuable weapons, very effective at inflicting maming attacks that lower moral. Racal apropriate weapons.
Tactics: Rodents are often used to sneak attack, good with burst damage and are good at ambushing. Cats are often Aristocrats that go to war to command as generals, they are decent at fighting, but flee at the drop of a hat. Dogs Often fight as there Shoch troopers.
Preferance: A Sneky player.

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
I think Overgrowth could translate over to an RTS. Halo did it, and even though the game itself blew there was still potential for it to be good.
An idea I just had, and a way to side-step any and all modern Overgrowth story-plot thing is to have it set in the stone age, or at least begin there and sort of follow the same sort of period that Age of Empires I did, which was the Neolithic (New Stone) Age through the Iron Age.
Talk About!!

Re: Overgrowth RTS???
I think it would be like Halo Wars. I didn't like Halo Wars. I'm sure some people did, though.
