[Map] Web Ocean

Post by Constance » Sun Apr 07, 2013 2:47 am

First, I thought of making a indoors map, but i trailed off and made a arena where attacks don't do damage, so you use gravity to your yummy disposal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9BbVj_oETM
(for some reason I couldn't get the Embed Youtube to work with the video)

A good idea is NOT TO ROLL: you'll probably fall off.

Calculate Nav mesh for fights longer than two seconds!
Web Ocean.zip
(103.04 KiB) Downloaded 251 times
To install without using SUMLauncher, download the map from the link above, and copy the .xml (not the web_ocean_arena folder, but web_ocean.xml) into Overgrowth/Data/Levels, and then copy and paste the files that's also included in the download (in a folder named "Extract files inside this folder to Data") into Overgrowth/Data, then type in on the main menu screen web_ocean.xml into the "load a custom level" text field.

Either that or just use SUMLauncher to play.

NOTE: This requires Steelraven's ragdoll hotspot, and water from Markuss' River Fight assets.

The goat of this map is not to deal damage, but knock the others out of the web!
Try spawning weapons like Hammers and extending the web for extra fun in a bun.

Looks awesome. I don't see any goats in the screenshots, though :P

This level just crashes for me. I don't have your flatheightmap.png

Oh crap, right. I need to include that.

EDIT: The download is now updated with the proper heightmap included.

P.B.J - Don't fight in the bottom area of the crete structure, it'll crash.

Playing it now. When the level loads I get the message "Dimensions of Overgrowth/Data/Custom/Timbles/flat/flatheightmap.png_normal.png are 300 x 300, should be powers of two."

- I press continue and the level plays as intended.

Seems pretty sweet so far. Thanks, Timbles.

I'm not sure why that's appearing, but I'll update the original post's download with a fix for that. Install the map like always.

Before you ever say you play a game you need to prove it first.

I can't play this level, it just gives me an infinite load time for some reason. I never have had this problem with any map, ever.

I suck with making heightmaps. I'll upload a version that doesn't use the custom heightmap.

Uploaded the new download.
I'm not sure why I'm so bad at making heightmaps; I just am.
