I was pleasantly surprised at the fluidity and believability of the combat moves, too. They just seemed natural, which is very important if you want your players to become absorbed into the game (figuratively speaking).
I'm curious as to how well it's going to turn out for the physics-based animation of L2, though...

It is going to be much more demanding, although, like in Lugaru 1, you will be able to turn down the graphics.Nazgul11 wrote:Screenshots! Screenshots! I wonder how much MORE demanding in system requirements Lugaru 2 will be over the original Lugaru. I imagine not that much. Time will tell.
Check out the Wolfire forum above this one for screenshots as they come.

When two enemies have their backs to you (ie. Challenge 2, with timing, or parts of the Raider Sentries level) and you make enough noise for the closer of the two to hear, it often makes a chirp which causes the more distant one to pause and then turn as well, I think. So yes, they do seem to warn each other when Turner runs up behind them.

I thought it was cool that if an enemy comes across a corpse you've left beaten, bloodied, and stabbed. They will search the area and then go warn their buddies, sending everyone they reach into a high alert mode for a little while. I think its funny throwing bunny corpses into the path of another rabbit just to see what he'll do.
I also noticed that different attacks affect the alertness of the baddies that are in the area. For example, if you knife throw some guy, they won't notice it too much unless he cries out...which seems to be random...but if you then go up and then kick/uber-punch him into a tree, they'll notice more...
Maybe I'm over analyzing it, but thats what it seems like.
