have you registered your game? All debug mode and alternate map options require the full version of the game.

Okay. That was my first and most likeley geuss.

1) do a forum search because all the following solutions can be found in other places or visit wolifre.com/wiki.

2) edit the debug file (debug.txt within the Lugaru\Data folder) to say Debug: 1 rather than Debug: 2. I am writing that losely hoping you can figure it out without me having to write in more accuracy. When you save this file make sure to use a program which will not change its filetype.

3) If you are using a US keyboard layout hit the "`" button ("~" is the shift version), but you dont want shift. This should bring up a console

I see, thanks

Someone can delete this Thread now, it's to hold this forum clean of stupid questions.... ;)

Naw, no need to delete it, cause if we keep such threads as these on top, we might get less questions from people who are too lazy to search :P

Which also gives me the idea of a "READ THIS: FAQ" thread. :)

Or maybe the invention of something called a wiki.

But nobody knows of the wiki. It's hardly linked anywhere.

Then make it known. Bob was one step ahead of me. He already made a thread notifying people of the wiki and it has been stickied. Problem solved. Wasn't that sweet?

Debug in Linux

Post by Platima » Tue Aug 08, 2006 1:05 pm

Hey guys.
I have been following nearly all threads of this forum and most of the wiki for some time now, as i am an avid player of the game. One thing that eludes me though, is the lack of debug support in the linux version. Is there none, or am i just crazy? I have a full registered version, i have turned on debug in the config, i have done EVERYTHING, and i still cant get the console or any debug keys to work. Tried it on my windows machine and *BAM* debug mode is working....
Any comments (from David or Jeff especially)?
Thanks

You'd be better starting off a new thread for this instead.

I think the linux version has a secret config. I remember someone mentioning that it is stored in '.config' or something like that instead of where you would expect it. David and I don't really know much about the Linux port, but I am sure someone else knows what's up.

Ohh yeh

I had a look around, and for anyone else that needs it
The REAL config file for the linux Lugaru port is:
~/.lugaru/Data/config.txt
or in long: /home/username/.lugaru/Data/config.txt
Im not sure why the other is still there, but this is the one that couts
Thanks for your help Jeff, would have never bothered looking for hidden files
