Black Shades ported to Windows

Post by Henry » Tue Sep 27, 2005 12:05 am

Hi Guys,

I loved Lugaru for Windows so much, I had to port Black Shades:

http://www.simisen.com/blackshades/Setu ... Shades.exe

Source code is at:

http://www.simisen.com/blackshades/blackshades.zip

Notes:

- This code has been tested on Windows 2000. XP and 98 should work as well.
- The source is based off the code available at icculus.org
- The OpenAL code in there seemed to be based off a different version of OpenAL than exists today. I reduced the requirements as much as possible without a major rewrite, but unless your sound card can support at least 16 PCM channels, you may not hear sound. This should not be an issue for anyone with a sound card made after 1998 or so...

Have fun!

Great job! Thank You!

It works as promised. I'm not sure about keys like "constant slow-mo" though.

Black Shades... I can play it at work now!

Anyone else notice a significant decrease in forum activity since this was released?

This game is pretty fun, if a bit twitchy when it comes to the mouse. My main problem is I had no idea what the keys are. Some of them I really wasn't sure what they did. So if someone could please list all the keys for the game I'd appreciate it greatly. Any hints/tips would be nice as well.

i bought a powerbook just so that I could play BS and Luguru, then luguru got ported and I had to sell my powerbook because I needed to do windows coding and some other reasons.

...

Anyhow, its nice to be able to play blackshades again >.>
