Wolfire Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Notice of update: Effective October 6, 2026. The June 16, 2022 policy governs website visits before that date.

In short: our site doesn't use cookies to track you or show ads. Embedded YouTube videos and Humble Bundle store widgets can set their own cookies.

This policy covers www.wolfire.com, operated by Wolfire Games LLC in California, United States. It covers the website only. Our previous combined website and Receiver policy is archived here; for questions about privacy in our games, contact contact@wolfire.com.

Visiting the website

You can browse without creating an account or giving us your email address. We do not build personal profiles of website visitors.

Our website does not change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. Embedded services follow their own privacy practices.

If you dismiss a privacy policy update notice, we save that preference in your browser. It contains no identifier and is used only to keep the notice dismissed until it expires.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. It processes technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and prevent abuse. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand traffic and page performance. That analytics service does not use cookies or browser storage to identify visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Web Analytics documentation.

Some pages include YouTube videos. Your browser contacts Google to load video thumbnails, and loads the YouTube player when you choose to play a video. YouTube may then use cookies and collect information under Google's privacy policy.

Some game pages also load Humble Bundle purchase widgets. These contact Humble Bundle when the page loads and can set session and security cookies. If you buy through a widget, Humble Bundle handles the checkout and payment information under its privacy policy.

Older blog posts also contain embeds from Steam and X (formerly Twitter). Embedded services and externally hosted images receive technical information, such as your IP address, when your browser loads them. Their providers may collect information independently of Wolfire, under their own privacy policies, including Steam's and X's. External sites linked from ours have their own privacy practices too.

Newsletter and contact messages

If you sign up for our newsletter, we send your email address to Mailchimp to manage your subscription and send updates. Mailchimp processes subscription and delivery information and, where email tracking is enabled, information about opens and clicks. See Mailchimp's privacy statement. You can stop newsletter emails using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include. We use it to respond and handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive information we do not need.

We do not sell newsletter addresses or contact messages, or use them for targeted advertising. We share them with the providers needed to deliver email and manage subscriptions, and may disclose information when legally required.

Keeping your information

We keep subscription information to manage the newsletter, including records of unsubscribe requests so we can respect your choice. Unsubscribing stops emails; it does not automatically delete every subscription record. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request, maintain relevant business records, or meet legal obligations. Our providers also retain information under their own policies.

We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Contact us if you need information about international transfers and the safeguards applicable to your data.

Your choices and rights

You can contact contact@wolfire.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to obtain a copy of your data, restrict or object to its use, and complain to your local data protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Where EU or UK data protection law applies, we rely on your consent for newsletter subscriptions and our legitimate interests in responding to messages, operating a secure website, understanding traffic and performance, and displaying embedded media and store widgets. These interests do not replace any consent required for nonessential cookies. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time by unsubscribing, and object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us.

Changes and contact

We will post updates here and change the date above. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@wolfire.com.
