Lugaru 2 Music Spotted!

Post by Nazgul11 » Sat Apr 15, 2006 2:38 pm

I was going to post this in the "Paul Houseman (Composer) Good for L2 music...?" thread but since that whole thing has been taken care of (hehehe) I decided not to. Anyway, I was on Google doing a search for Sean Beeson, to see if he had a site. And he did! :) While I was listening to some of the music in the player, I scrolled down and noticed a name I know VERY well...Lugaru! :D Thats right, if you scroll down you'll see a track named Lugaru. If you click on the arrow pointing downwards you can save the track. I'm guessing its the main theme. Or maybe the main menu music? Dunno, but I do know that I like it a lot! What does everyone else think?

Luguru isn't just the name of the game, I think it also means werewolf or something.

Yeah, I am aware of this. I just figured that since Sean Beeson is doing some of the music for Lugaru 2, I though it would be a little odd if he named one of his tracks Lugaru, and it didn't have anything to do with the game.

Why don't you email and ask? Or has he got a forum account?
The song was really good, anyway :)

That is a concept track for the world map theme.

Well, now that spilled the beans! Ya, I would have guessed that this would be an overview song. The drumming sounds (nice clapping noises) along with the rising beat would make the "map room' look and feel so much more alive.

Yeah that makes sense. Is it used in the current build at all?

Have to say it does indeed sound like a world map theme. Pretty neat. 8)

I was going to say that it sounded like a theme for an overworld. Reminded me of ages of empires, somehow.

This is Sean Beeson. I am still planning on helping with the music for Lugaru 2 as much as I can. I currently am recording a few tracks for other games with a professional orchestra in Czech, so I have been AWOL for a month or two, but in the next month, hopefully expect some tracks from me.

Thanks,
Sean Beeson

I would LOVE to do some live orchestral tracks for Lugaru as well. I might have something planned in a future piece. :)

Orchestral? That with violins and the such right? Oh man that would rule, rule!
I'm sure alot of games had used orchestral pieces but I can't remember any of them. I'll definately view the music in Lugaru with heart, every song will definitely be remembered now, and it's not like it shouldn't recieve the praise! These songs have been cool as hell. :P
